Preview: Belief is complete faith in God, and Jesus requires that we also follow His teachings. One cannot exist without the other, because if you truly believe, you want to do everything in your power to follow His ways.

Scripture Reading: Romans 10:13-21.

Memory Verse: Mark 16:16.

1. Why will belief alone not save men? Mark 1:15.
2. What comfort did Jesus give to a ruler of the synagogue? Luke 8:49-50.
Note: The modern teaching of this day is to believe and thou shalt be saved–no matter what the life may be.
3. Why is it important to believe? Luke 8:12.
4. What sign shall follow those who believe? Mark 16:17-18.
Note: This is not saying that we should act foolishly to prove that we are God’s people. These Scriptures are saying that while we do God’s work, He will watch over us and protect us from evil.
5. What class are those in who are slow to believe? Luke 24:23-25.
6. For what purpose did John come? John 1:7.
7. What, other than belief, will save man? Acts 2:37-39.
8. What part has a sinner in his own salvation? Acts 2:40.
Note: To believe in Christ is to obey Christ, and disobedience is disbelief.
9. What also must we do to solidify our faith and belief? James 2:17.
10. How does the Lord challenge the man with faith and no works? James 2:18.
11. What does the devil sincerely believe? James 2:19.
Note: If belief alone will save, the devil too will be saved. Belief alone without works is the devil’s doctrine.
12. What is the condition of faith and belief without works? James 2:20.
13. How is faith made perfect? James 2:22.
14. Is man justified by faith alone? Why not? James 2:24.
15. How was Rahab justified? James 2:25-26.
