Peace Through God

Preview: Merriam-Webster defines peace as: a state of tranquility or quiet; freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions. Peace, given by God, is one of the greatest gifts we can attain. Peace can be gained through faith that the Lord will watch over us and meet all of our needs.


Scripture Reading: Romans 5:1-11.

Memory Verse: James 3:18.

1. What can an ungodly person expect in life? Isaiah 48:22.
2. What can we expect in our lives if we strive for it? Psalm 34:14.
3. What is promised to those who love God’s Law? Psalm 119:165.
4. What are God’s instructions concerning our attitudes toward our brethren? I Thessalonians 5:12-13, Mark 9:50.
Note: Too often so-called Christians are quick to point at others who seem to be hard to get along with, without first examining his or her own life to see if the problem is within themselves.
5. What is the difference in the peace that God gives compared to the peace that the world gives? John 14:27, Philippians 4:7.
6. What should be the rule in our hearts? Colossians 3:15.
7. What are we instructed to follow after? Romans 14:17-19.
8. Through what source are we able to obtain real peace? Romans 5:1.
Note: If we expect the people around us to be friendly and peaceable, we first have to show the world what real peace is through a living example.
