The Commission Jesus Gave the Disciples

Preview: Jesus gave very specific instructions to His disciples on what to do after He rose. 


Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:16-20.

1. What did the angel say to the women that met him at the sepulcher of Jesus? Matthew 28:7-8. 
2. What day of the week did they meet the angel? Matthew 28:1. 
3. Who did Jesus, the next day, meet as they were walking from Emmaus to Jerusalem? Luke 24:13-15. 
4. Were they able to recognize Jesus? Discuss. Luke 24:16. 
5. Was there a great commotion among the people? Luke 24:17-20. 
6. Did the two disciples feel that their hope was gone? Why? Luke 24:21-22.

Note: Jesus gave His disciples the commission to go and preach the Gospel to every creature. He is calling today for those that will do likewise. It is a wonderful privilege for us to have that we may tell the lost world. We are not to hold back for anything but tell the wonderful story of Jesus to all people.
