Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:1-14.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 65:17.

1. Are Heaven and New Jerusalem the same? Revelation 21:2.

Note: There are multiple things that are given the title of heaven in the Bible: the first heaven is the atmosphere, the second heaven is the stars, and the third Heaven is the paradise where God dwells. New Jerusalem is brought down from Heaven and settled on earth, but it is not the Heaven that God dwells in. New Jerusalem is often called Heaven on earth, however, and you can use the name “Heaven” to describe it as long as you do not mix up your understanding that God’s Heaven and Heaven on Earth are not the same place.

2. What is our heavenly reward? Matthew 16:27, II Timothy 4:8, Revelation 20:6, I Peter 1:3-5, Revelation 22:14.

3. What will happen to the old Earth (our Earth)? Revelation 21:1.

4. Did Jesus prepare New Jerusalem for us? Where? Hebrews 11:16, John 14:2.

5. Will God be with us in the city? Revelation 21:3.

6. Is New Jerusalem a walled city and how big is it? Revelation 21:15-16.

Note: In modern measurement, the walls are estimated to be around 1500 miles long on each side. Its height is equal to its length; therefore, the walls will be approximately 1500 miles tall as well.

7. What does New Jerusalem look like? Revelation 21:10-14, Revelation 21:18-21.

Note: Notice that nothing in the holy city is described as having been made of cheap or dead material (such as wood). Nothing must die in order for the city to be made, which further proves the lack of death and destruction in Heaven.

8. Will there be darkness or nighttime in Heaven? Explain why or why not. Revelation 21:23-25, Revelation 22:5.

9. What will worship look like in the holy city? Revelation 21:22, Revelation 7:9-14, Isaiah 66:21-22.

10. Describe what our experience will be like in New Jerusalem. Revelation 21:4.

11. How will we eat and drink? Revelation 22:1, Ezekiel 47:12, Isaiah 65:21-22, Revelation 22:2.

12. Who are the only people allowed in the city? Revelation 22:14, John 3:3, John 3:5.

13. How do the people and animals interact in the city? Isaiah 65:25, Isaiah 11:6.

14. Will there be children in Heaven? Zechariah 8:5.

15. How will we be changed? I Corinthians 15:51-54, Philippians 3:20-21, Isaiah 40:31, I John 3:2.

16. Why must we be changed? I Corinthians 15:50, Revelation 21:27.

17. Can we even comprehend what Heaven will be like? Explain. I Corinthians 2:9, I Corinthians 2:12, Romans 8:18.
