Preview: God blesses us in many ways and for many reasons. This is the first part of a three-part lesson concerning God’s blessings on us.
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:1-8.
Memory Verse: Psalm 1:1.
1. Discuss the following blessings referred to in the Scripture Reading:
A. When we are obedient from the heart. Proverbs 3:1-2.
B. When mercy and truth are part of our character. Proverbs 3:3-4.
C. What results when we trust God with our whole hearts? Proverbs 3:5-6.
Note: God can only direct the lives of those who put all their trust in Him.
D. What are the benefits of departing from evil? Proverbs 3:7-8.
E. What are the blessings to faithful tithe payers? Proverbs 3:9-10 & Malachi 3:10-12.
Note: Ten percent of all our increase is the interest that God has required on all that He has given to us. It is not ours to use as we please. We are instructed to send or bring it to the storehouse (Church Headquarters).
F. Discuss the blessings promised to those who seek godly wisdom instead of material wealth. Proverbs 3:13-26.
G. What must our reaction be when God is rebuking or correcting us? Proverbs 3:11-12, Proverbs 13:24.
2. Who only can give us peace? Psalm 29:10-11.
3. What blessings are promised to the just? Proverbs 10:6-7.
4. What blessing is promised to those who daily seek and find the Lord? Proverbs 8:32-35.
5. What happens to those who do not? Proverbs 8:36.
Note: God blesses all of His creation. He lets the sun shine and rain fall on the just and the unjust, but the only ones who can have the assurance that they can ask for and receive His blessings are those who love Him and keep His Commandments.
