Preview: This is the second part of a three-part lesson on the subject of prayer.


Scripture Reading: Nehemiah 4:1-9.

Memory Verse: Jeremiah 29:12.

1. How much of our heart must be involved if our prayers are heard? Jeremiah 29:13.
2. How does God regard the prayers of the upright? Proverbs 15:8, Proverbs 15:29.
Note: God is not at all impressed with the sacrifice of the wicked- but the prayers of the upright delight Him.
3. How will we see ourselves if we do not seek God with our whole heart? Proverbs 16:2-5, Proverbs 16:25.
4. What are Jesus' thoughts on prayer? Matthew 14:22-23, Mark 6:41, Luke 6:12, Luke 9:28-29, John 14:16.
5. Why was it necessary for Jesus to pray for the will of the Father to be done? Matthew 26:36-39, Matthew 26:42.
6. What did Jesus tell the disciples about prayer? Matthew 26:40-41.
7. How fervently did Jesus pray? Luke 22:41-46.
8. Did Jesus say He had prayed for Peter? What did He pray for? Luke 22:31-32.
Note: Since Jesus was the living example for all of us, let us prayerfully consider the foregoing Scriptures and earnestly pray that we will not enter into temptation.
9. What gives us the only assurance that God will answer our prayers? I John 3:21-24.
Note: Only when we trust, obey, and abide in Him!
