Preview: Merriam-Webster defines self-righteousness as: narrow-mindedly moralistic; convinced of one’s own righteousness especially in contrast with the actions and beliefs of others. God cautions us against being self-righteous. God’s people are not proud of themselves; they are meek and grateful for the truth and the ability to pass it on.

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 27:1-7.

1. How does man regard his own ways? Proverbs 16:2.
2. What is the termination of man’s ways? Proverbs 14:12.
3. How should we esteem ourselves? Proverbs 27:2.
Note: Many times we praise ourselves by saying that we are great at doing this or that when it would be better to do our job well and we would automatically be praised.

Note: We find God’s Word being fulfilled. Men do love themselves. They boast of what they do. They don’t always tell you in words but ways and actions show where their heart is.
7. What does Paul say regarding pleasing ourselves? Romans 15:1-3.
8. What does faith come by? Romans 12:3-6.
9. How does God know all our selfish acts? Proverbs 24:11-12.
