Lest We Forget: Part 1 of 2

Preview: Once you have heard the truth of God’s Word you are held responsible to do it. There is no excuse for forgetting what you have learned if you seek eternal salvation. This is the first part of a two-part lesson on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Psalm 103:1-22.

Memory Verse: James 1:25.

1. Discuss the message that God wants us to remember from the foregoing Scriptures.
2. What did the Lord say about His people? Jeremiah 2:31-32.
3. Why must we take heed to ourselves? Deuteronomy 4:2 & Deuteronomy 4:9.
4. What command do we have? Deuteronomy 4:5-9.
5. How do some forget the Lord? Deuteronomy 8:11 & Deuteronomy 8:17-18.
6. Why does the Lord want His children to show forth His praises down through the generations? Psalm 78:4-8.
7. What things are we taught to do? Proverbs 4:4-7.
8. Did Paul remind us not to forget some things? Hebrews 13:2 & Hebrews 13:16.
9. What should be the attitude of every Christian toward the things he has been taught? Hebrews 2:1-4.
10. What is another thing we are admonished not to forget? Hebrews 10:25.
11. What will it cause us to do if we begin to fear man and the forces of the evil one? Isaiah 51:12-13.
12. What is one who hears the Word and won’t do it compared to? James 1:22-24.
13. What is said of the doer? James 1:25.
14. What should be the testimony and attitude of those who suffer for God? Psalm 44:17-18.
Note: May God help us to earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints and really hunger and thirst after righteousness, for this is the only way we can be filled. If we have found the truth, let us be putting it into practice as the doers will be justified and not the hearers only. We ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip, for how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?
