God the Creator - Order and Purpose: Part 2 of 13

Preview: An introduction to the God of Creation; the only true God. This is the second of a thirteen-part series of lessons on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Psalm 104:1-14.

Memory Verse: Psalm 119:1.

1. Do we find order and praise in God’s creation from the Scripture Reading and Memory Verse?
Note: Not only did God create all things, He arranged it all in an orderly fashion. The heavens and earth declare His glory and creative ability.
2. How did the sun, moon, and stars come into existence? Psalm 136:1, Psalm 136:7-9 & Psalm 8:1 & Psalm 8:3.
3. Why should we be happy with this God? Psalm 146:5-10.
4. How did He form the heavens, earth, sea, and all that inhabit them? Psalm 89:11 & Psalm 33:6-9.
Note: God accomplished all of this through His Word.
5. How did John describe this Word? John 1:1-5 & I John 1:1-3.
Note: Jesus is the Word of Creation, but God the Father was the Master Designer.
6. Did He design all of creation by wisdom or on impulse? Psalm 136:5 & Proverbs 3:19-20.
7. For what purpose did He make all things? Proverbs 16:4 & Proverbs 26:10.
8. Did God create some men wicked? Ecclesiastes 3:11 & Ecclesiastes 7:29.
Note: God created all things beautiful and perfect. Through rebellion and disobedience, man marred the beauty. Even though the transgressor may prosper now, one day he will be judged by a righteous God.
9. What was His message to Judah and Jerusalem? Jeremiah 18:7-11.
10. How did they react to God and His messenger Jeremiah? Jeremiah 18:12 & Jeremiah 18:18.
Note: They disobeyed and disrespected the God who made them; they hated and despised the witness who told them the truth. We see the same rebellious and ungodly attitudes today, even among people who call themselves Christians.
