Preview: This is the second lesson in a two-part series on this subject.

Scripture Reading: John 16:1-13.

Memory Verse: John 14:15.

1. What promise did Christ make to His disciples shortly before His crucifixion? John 14:16.
2. What is the Comforter and what is Its work? John 14:26.
3. Can the world receive the Comforter? Why? John 14:17 (first part).
4. How is the Comforter associated with the believer? John 14:17 (last part).
5. Whose presence does the Holy Spirit bring to the believer? John 14:18.
6. How long will Christ be with those who serve Him? Matthew 28:20.
Note: The Holy Spirit brings to us the very actions, principles, deeds, and ways of the Father and His Son. The Holy Spirit, the Father, and the Son agree in one. The Holy Spirit eliminates divisions between those who possess It. It is not satisfied for us to be divided in our understanding of God’s Word as many people teach today.
7. How are Christians united with Jesus and His Father? John 14:20.
8. What does Jesus do at the door of man’s heart? Revelation 3:20.
9. Why was it necessary for Jesus to leave His disciples? John 16:7.
Note: The three in the Godhead are one; therefore, the work of the Holy Spirit is not so different from the work of our Savior as it is taught today.
10. What does the Holy Spirit reprove upon Its return? John 16:8.
11. What other name did Jesus give for the Comforter? John 15:26.
